Schools & Families Programme

National Numeracy have launched a new Schools & Families programme, supporting primary schools across the UK.

The programme works with primary schools to support families, so that pupils feel more positive about maths, and have greater awareness of the value of numeracy outside the classroom. We also work with schools to increase parents’, carers’ and school staff’s own confidence with numbers, aiming to establish lasting approaches and strategies which can continue in the years following the programme.

  • Family Maths activities and scrapbooks for all pupils
  • Parental engagement webinar and related resources

  • Access to the National Numeracy Challenge for all staff and parents
  • Termly online Forums to share successes and challenges with National Numeracy and other schools
  • Participation in National Numeracy’s two main annual campaigns: National Numeracy Day and Number Confidence Week
  • Materials to communicate with parents about the programme
  • Access to an online resource hub
  • Ongoing support from National Numeracy during the programme
  • At the end of the programme, a report summarising engagement and impact

Participating schools are also invited to participate in additional activities including:

  • Termly webinars on a range of subjects
  • Termly National Numeracy Schools newsletter
  • Where available, assemblies and lessons from our Corporate Volunteers
