We’re pleased to recognise Vanquis Banking Group's Lorraine Handley, HR – Learning and Development Trainer, and Faye Steel, Compliance Monitoring Officer, as our Volunteers of the Month for December.
Lorraine and Faye visited a Bradford primary school to deliver a My Maths Story assembly and support two Maths in the Real World class sessions.
Lorraine said: "The children were so well behaved throughout the assembly. They were engaged and asked some great questions. In the class session the teacher I worked with had everything prepared and I helped by moving around the different groups to support with answering any questions. The activity worked really well. Instructions to the children were clear, they knew what they were doing and gave their answers at the end of each section."
The Assistant Headteacher said: "Lorraine was very thorough during the assembly and chose a range of children to answer her questions. She was engaging and animated when the children gave their answers which was lovely to see. The delivery was perfect. The class sessions also went well. They made the children think about how maths is used in real life."
