Each participating school will receive a package of support across the school year 2024-25, including:
- Schools & Families Programme training to become Numeracy Champions for up to three members of staff
- Family Maths scrapbooks and activities for all pupils
- Parental engagement webinar and related resources
- Materials to deliver a parent workshop exploring parents’ and carers’ own attitudes around maths and how they can help their children build a positive relationship with maths
- Access to the National Numeracy Challenge for all staff and parents
- Termly online Forums to share successes and challenges with National Numeracy and other schools
- Participation in National Numeracy’s two main campaigns: National Numeracy Day and Number Confidence Week
- Materials to communicate with parents about the programme
- Access to an online resource hub
- Ongoing support from National Numeracy during the programme
- At the end of the programme, an impact report summarising engagement and impact
Participating schools will also be invited to participate in additional activities including:
- Termly webinars on a range of subjects
- Termly National Numeracy Schools newsletter
- Where available, the opportunity for a corporate volunteer to visit and lead an assembly and/or classroom activity about the value of numeracy in adult working life
The programme is open to primary schools across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Please do apply wherever you are located, as we will support schools across the country. We are also particularly looking for applications in the following areas:
- Greater Manchester
- East Midlands
- The North West
Once we receive applications, we will rank them by free school meal percentage/SIMD Q1-3/PDG. Where possible, schools who are not successful will join a waiting list for a future programme.
